Every issue, fault code, work order, parts invoice, reminder, assignment, etc. across every vehicle and location adds to the noise fleet managers are trying to decipher. The harder problem is figuring out what actually deserves attention, and then turning that decision into action quickly enough to keep vehicles moving.

Today, we're introducing the next evolution of Fleetio AI Service Advisor, built to do exactly that.

AI Service Advisor is Fleetio's built-in maintenance expert. It evaluates repairs and issues in context, helps teams understand what matters, and carries routine work forward in line with the standards each fleet sets.

It's AI designed for the maintenance decisions fleets make every day. Where cost, risk, repair quality and vehicle availability are all at stake.

And with new capabilities since the Open Beta in March, such as drafting service work, evaluating in-house maintenance and drilling deeper into the parts and labor behind repair costs, Service Advisor can now help across even more of the maintenance workflow.

Start with the signals that actually deserve attention

Instead of requiring someone to manually review every new issue and determine what should be taken care of first, AI Service Advisor evaluates incoming issues and assigns priorities based on the available maintenance context. Since Open Beta, Service Advisor has prioritized more than 550,000 issues, and users accept AI-assigned priorities 97% of the time.

Now, Service Advisor can help even earlier in the workflow by monitoring incoming telematics faults. It reviews meaningful patterns, including repeated faults and related fault codes appearing together, and can automatically turn those patterns into a single issue in Fleetio.

The new issue includes a plain-language explanation of what the faults mean, the potential long-term risk and recommended next steps. The original fault codes stay connected to the issue, so when the issue is resolved, the related faults can be resolved with it.

From there, the normal maintenance workflow continues: the issue can be prioritized, reviewed, added to service work and tracked through resolution.

Instead of asking teams to sift through fault-code noise and manually decide which signals deserve action, Service Advisor helps turn vehicle health signals into prioritized maintenance work.

Assess repairs with more context

Since Open Beta, Service Advisor Assessments have become much more contextual. And much more specific about why a repair deserves a closer look.

Assessments can now surface potential warranty opportunities, compare parts and labor against historical costs and call attention directly to the line items driving an exception. Instead of flagging a repair total and leaving teams to investigate, Service Advisor can show whether the difference is coming from a part cost, labor rate or labor time.

For example, teams can see how a quoted labor rate compares with the vendor's historical average, whether labor time is running above typical ranges, and — when available — how that compares with standard shop repair time.

We've also expanded Assessments beyond outsourced repairs. Work Order Assessments bring the same intelligence into active in-house maintenance, helping teams evaluate work while it's still underway and surface opportunities like due or upcoming maintenance that may make sense to bundle into the same visit.

The result is a more focused review experience: Service Advisor points teams to the exact work that deserves attention and brings the relevant cost, warranty and maintenance context into the decision.

Move routine maintenance work forward

At Open Beta, AI Service Advisor primarily helped teams understand and evaluate maintenance. Now, it can take more of the next steps too.

AI Service Advisor can draft service work from an issue. It reviews the issue alongside relevant vehicle context, recommends the service tasks that should be performed, and can surface related work, such as other open issues or overdue/upcoming preventive maintenance that may make sense to address during the same visit.

Teams review the draft, keep or remove recommended services, and then create a new Work Order or add the work to one that's already open. Service Advisor also drafts notes for each service task so the context carries through to the person completing the repair. Instead of building every Work Order from scratch, teams start with a recommended plan they can adjust.

For outsourced repairs, routine approvals can be approved automatically. Fleets set their own approval dollar thresholds and AI Service Advisor will automatically approve low-risk work that falls within those guardrails. Repairs that need a closer look stay with the team for review.

When the work is complete, AI Service Advisor can help close the loop. Issues tied to completed service can be resolved automatically, keeping issue queues aligned with the maintenance that has actually happened instead of leaving teams to clean them up manually.

Together, these capabilities help prepare the work, advance routine decisions, and finish the follow-up while fleets remain in control of the policies and exceptions that require closer judgment.

Maintenance is continuous. Signals become issues. Issues become repairs. Repairs create new information that should make the next decision better. Soon, AI Service Advisor will keep extending in each direction.

Custom instructions, built around how your fleet actually operates

Every fleet carries its own written (and unwritten) rules about what deserves a closer look. Soon, teams will be able to give Service Advisor custom instructions that apply across every assessment, turning that institutional knowledge into policy the agent follows automatically. That can be as simple as always flagging nuisance add-ons like cabin air filters or wiper blade replacements, or it can be as specific as flagging repairs from a vendor with a spotty track record. A pattern that used to take a reviewer noticing it over time gets caught on the very next invoice.

Service Writer, drafting work before you ask for it

Service Writer already turns an open issue into a ready-to-review Work Order. Soon, that drafting will start earlier, triggered the moment a new issue opens or a preventive maintenance reminder comes due, so the draft is waiting before anyone goes looking for it. Less time spent assembling routine service, more time spent planning ahead, with visibility that stretches past the next few weeks instead of catching up to what's already overdue.

Fault Monitoring, going deeper into what the fault actually means

Fault Monitoring already groups related telematics faults into a single, explained issue. Soon, it will go further, expanding to parse manufacturer-specific fault codes to bring more precise, source-level detail into that explanation — building toward giving every fault the same depth of understanding, no matter which manufacturer defined it.
